Chris Comfort - Instructor

Chris has over thirty-two years of combined experience in High Risk Security, Law Enforcement, SERT leader and trainer, SWAT operator, and Close/Force Protection operator and trainer. He has developed and employed many skills and attributes that have enabled him to effectively instruct and deliver positive results associated with the subject matter as well as supervising.

During his time working abroad, he has held the positions of Director of Training for Special Operations, Detail Leader, Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader Close Protection Operator, and Force Protection Operator (All of these positions rate at a GS-13 to GS-15 and higher regarding the pay grade). His duties have ranged from training, to managing close protection academy course and directly supervising, and commanding large teams, all assignments and details which include scheduling and coordinating team assignments and subject material. He conducted and supervised route and site reconnaissance on high-risk protective details as well as been responsible for the dissemination of information through briefings with Command Staff and operational personnel in both Military and Civilian areas of operation. Often the recipients of these briefings were foreign as well as host country nationals this subject material was also tough in the academy courses.

As a Counter Assault Operator and Assistant Team leader, Chris has worked and have been responsible for the mobile and static placement and reactionary security element for the PRS protective detail while operating in a hostile environment. He has overseen security details involving principals such as; the United Nations Security Council, visiting dignitaries and heads of state, international judges and prosecutors and individuals designated extremely high risk by the United Nations. In addition he has worked as Force Protection Operator for the U.S. State Department for the President of Afghanistan and was responsible for maintaining security and operational control of the main checkpoint of the presidential compound this have also been some of the material he has been involved with as an instructor both overseas and here in the United States while working for Blackwater USA as an instructor.

SUPERVISING  RESPONSIBILITIES

Commander of the US Ambassadors Protection Detail in Afghanistan which was part of a 500 million dollar government funded project. I instructed and lead SWAT Teams in the U.S. as well as overseas, instructed Danish Military Police in raids and hostage rescue techniques while serving in Kosovo. Worked in Special Operations for the United Nations while serving in Kosovo as a Close Protection Operator (CPU). Completed 225 high-risk operations working as an operator and a team leader. Transferred to the CPU Training unit as a full time instructor, and was promoted to Director of Training. Instructed and served as a team leader for the Alameda County SERT team from 2008 to 2012.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS, COMMENDATIONS and AWARDS

Eighteen-year member of Tactical teams with 104 (HRT) Operations in the United States.

Completed 26 Operations in Kosovo as a team leader working as a weapons recovery team, with the Danish Military Police.

Completed 225 CPU Operations in Kosovo as Team Leader with the Danish Military Police.

Eighty-two letters of commendation, for superior performance in the line of duties

Qualified with: Car-15, the MP-5, Rem. 870, shotgun as well as the Rem. 700, and the Sage Gun. During my contract in Kosovo the MP-5, SA-80 and the HK G-36 was issued and carried.

Won multiple awards for “Sniper Exercises”, as well as handgun and shoulder mounted weapon.

I was responsible for the budget, inventory, training and equipment, regarding vehicles and weapons systems. This team originally had only seven operators. I was promoted to build the unit up to the 64 operators needed to fill the task order requirement the Department of State.

I was able to fill the task order within 12 months and was turning out over 640 successful High Risk Dignitary moves a month which was, and still is, the largest number of moves turned out for any Close Protection Team within the WPPS (World Personal Protective Services) program to

date. When returning to the United States International Training Resources hired me as an instructor to assist with their Dignitary Protection lesson plans and power point presentations.

 

Director of Training for Special Operations/Training Coordinator ACSO

Responsibilities Include:

Training the instructors to teach Armed Security courses (force protection) for highly restricted facilities that had potential for significant breach of national security.

Teaching Armed executive protective services for extreme high-risk dignitaries, which included force protection of both residential areas and commercial areas.

Provided Security risk threat assessment for force protection.

Law Enforcement and Security Training to U.S. as well as to foreign governments.

Resolved disciplinary problems within the training unit and/or any problems with students during the basic courses.
