Private Instruction

Paratus Training is proud to provide the most comprehensive firearms instruction courses in Santa Barbara County.  Private lessons allow our instructors to go more in depth and detail on weapon manipulation, safe handling, and shooting performance than what is often offered in our group classes.

Lessons can be designed around the students skill set and what goals they want to achieve in their own shooting. We have multiple instructors available that specialize in rifle, pistol, and shotgun training. If you want to try out a firearm before you buy, let us know and we can check if that’s something we have in our inventory.

Here is a breakdown of fees associated with instruction sessions:

• We offer a rate of $195 for 1.5 hours of private (single person) instruction.

• The rate for a 2-person session is $300 for 2 hours of instruction.

• For groups of 3 or more the cost is $125 per person for 2.5 hours of instruction.

• Ammunition is not included. Ammunition can be purchased from Paratus Training.

Private Groups

For pistol and rifle training, the student to teacher ratio will never exceed 1:4.   For Shotgun / Trap shooting, please click here.  Cost includes use of firearms, eye and ear protection, and range fee. Price does not include ammunition but can be purchased from Paratus training.  

Custom Groups

Events more than 4 participants (i.e. bachelor or bachelorette parties, corporate team building etc.) are priced upon request based on the number of participants and the length of the event.  For pistol and rifle training, the student to teacher ration will never exceed 1:4.  Paratus training routinely hosts many large private group events.  Please see our Facebook page and Yelp.com for pictures and reviews of many of these recent events.
